  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 20 cookies 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Cookies:

  • 2¼ cups flour

  • ¾ cup cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 cup butter

  • ¾ cup sugar

  • ¾ cup brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tsp vanilla

Decoration:

  • 1 cup green candy melts

  • ½ cup mini marshmallows

  • ½ cup green & purple M&Ms

  • Pretzel sticks

  • Edible glitter or sprinkles

  • Candy eyeballs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make Dough: Mix dry ingredients. Beat butter and sugars, then add eggs and vanilla. Combine to form dough.

  2. Shape: Roll into 1½-inch balls, flatten slightly, and make small dents.

  3. Bake: 10–12 mins at 350°F (175°C). Cool completely.

  4. Decorate: Fill dents with melted candy. Add marshmallows, M&Ms, and glitter.

  5. Finish: Insert pretzel sticks as broom handles. Let set and enjoy!

Notes

  • Make it spooky: Add gummy worms or candy eyes before the chocolate sets.

  • Quick version: Use pre-made cookie dough for faster prep.

  • Vegan version: Use dairy-free butter and vegan chocolate.

  • Fun tip: Add a drop of peppermint or orange extract to your candy melts for extra flavor.

These cookies pair wonderfully with something savory like Garlic Parmesan Chicken and Potatoes for a full Halloween meal!
