This Halloween Buffalo Chicken Dip — aka Boo-ffalo Dip — is a spicy, creamy, and cheesy crowd-pleaser that’s perfect for spooky season! Made with shredded chicken, hot sauce, cream cheese, and ranch dressing, this dip delivers bold flavor in every bite. Customize it with creepy-cute Halloween decorations like sour cream spiderwebs and olive spiders for a festive party dish that’s as fun to look at as it is to eat. Serve it warm with chips, crackers, or veggies and watch it disappear like magic!

  • Total Time: 30–35 minutes
  • Yield: 8–10 party portions

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken (rotisserie chicken works great)

  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened

  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional, for extra creaminess)

  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing (or blue cheese dressing if you prefer)

  • 1/2 cup Frank’s RedHot® buffalo sauce

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (divided)

  • 1/4 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional)

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Mix ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, sour cream, ranch (or blue cheese) dressing, buffalo sauce, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and 3/4 cup of cheddar cheese. Mix until creamy and well combined.

  • Bake:
Transfer mixture to a baking dish (8×8 inch or similar). Top with remaining cheddar cheese and crumbled blue cheese (if using).

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, until hot and bubbly. Cheese on top should be melted and golden.

  • Halloween twist:

    • Pipe a sour cream spiderweb on top using a squeeze bottle or a zip-top bag with the corner snipped off.

    • Place a black olive spider in the center (slice one olive in half for the body, cut another into thin strips for legs).

    • Surround the dish with black and orange chips or “witch finger” breadsticks.

  • Serve hot with tortilla chips, baguette slices, celery, or carrot sticks.
