Sticky Honey Garlic Steak and Rotini is a mouthwatering dish that combines tender steak with a sweet, savory honey garlic sauce, served over hearty rotini pasta. This dish is perfect for a quick, flavorful dinner that will impress anyone at the table.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb steak (ribeye, sirloin, or flank steak, thinly sliced)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated (optional for added flavor)
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
  • 8 oz rotini pasta (or any pasta of your choice)
  • 1/2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pasta:
    • Cook the rotini pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Cook the Steak:
    • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Season the steak slices with salt and pepper. Once the oil is hot, add the steak to the skillet in batches, if necessary, and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side or until the steak reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set it aside.
  • Make the Honey Garlic Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Cook for 1 minute, stirring frequently, until fragrant.
    • Add the honeysoy saucerice vinegar, and grated ginger (if using) to the skillet. Stir well to combine.
    • Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  • Thicken the Sauce:
    • To thicken the sauce further, whisk in the cornstarch mixture (cornstarch mixed with water). Stir and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce becomes sticky and coats the back of a spoon.
  • Combine the Steak and Pasta:
    • Add the cooked steak slices back into the skillet, tossing them in the sauce to coat evenly.
    • Add the cooked rotini pasta to the skillet, stirring to coat the pasta in the honey garlic sauce.
  • Garnish and Serve:
    • Serve the Sticky Honey Garlic Steak and Rotini in bowls or on plates. Garnish with fresh parsley and sesame seeds for an extra touch of flavor and color.

Notes

  • Steak Variations: You can use different cuts of steak such as sirloinribeye, or flank steak. Flank steak is a great option because it’s tender when sliced thinly against the grain.
  • Add Vegetables: Feel free to add steamed vegetables like broccoli, bell peppers, or spinach to the dish for extra nutrition and color.
  • Spice Level: If you prefer a spicier kick, increase the amount of red pepper flakes or add a few drops of sriracha to the sauce.
  • Gluten-Free Option: Use tamari instead of soy sauce for a gluten-free version of this dish.
